About
Horse crazy little girls grow up in all kinds of ways. I grew up in the south of England, not far from the South Downs. Summers were long and sunny, riding ponies with my sister, parents and grandparents. We built camps in the woods, and I curled up into “bookworld” later, oblivious to the real world as I buried myself in stories.
I traded my sensible Connemara pony for an Arabian, after seeing a glorious Arabian stallion at the local Agricultural show. I studied ancient Greeks and Romans at University, embarked on a career in corporate PR and publications but I kept my horse. I wrote articles on the side, took photos and learnt about design and pedigrees. My little obsession has spawned a lifetime of research and creativity as well as foals in the paddocks at the bottom of the garden. Animals are so much lovelier than people I think. People who love animals tend to be the best of us.
Horses & History

Arabian horse research and history led to the creation of pedigrees, writing articles for specialist journals, and taking photos. I have spent over 30 years breeding foals and have amassed a vast collection of articles and reference materials. Check out the Bookroom page for free downloads or my Store for beautiful pedigrees.
Gifts & Pedigrees

Corporate writing and editing not only developed skills for articles and books but also opened up a window into graphic design. My hand-drawn pedigrees branched out. I learnt to design digitally, but also started to play with lettering art and calligraphy. My mix of hand-finished prints and hand-drawn art all pays tribute to the animals in our lives. Bookroom

I love to read. I read incessantly from non-fiction about nature, horses, civilisation and medieval manuscripts to fantasy fiction and themed novels spanning many genres. On my Bookroom page, you will find book recommendations, my article back catalogue and snippets of stories. There is a fantasy novel in process, but you will have to be patient for that.
